For the past five years mission teams from The Fellowship have gone to the Ukraine as part of the ministry of Michael Gott International to offer conversational English lessons which are greatly in demand in this emerging nation.  The Ukraine, known as the breadbasket of the former Soviet Union, is a country relatively new to democracy and free enterprise.  Since English is the international business language, fluency is a great asset in obtaining a good job or getting promoted in a nation where unemployment is approximately 30%.  The opportunity to learn from native speakers of English attracts hundreds and even thousands of students to each school.

Schools are typically held in the winter and the summer.  Mission team members are facilitators of lessons prepared by ESL professionals and taught on 7 different levels.  Students range in age from 16 - 60 with the highest concentration being university students and young professionals. A commitment of 16 days, which includes travel time, is needed to participate on a mission team.  Facilitators are welcome from all professions.

As one mission team member said, "I never dreamed I could be a part of an outreach that was so effective in both helping people and drawing them to Christ.  It is a blessing beyond belief and why I keep going back year after year."

Last year in Khmelnitskiy, Ukraine 467 students learned English and 254 committed their lives to Christ.
